About Sharon Coleman
Hello, I am Sharon Coleman, a family child care educator and founder of this website. I am the Director of Loving Care for Kids, a successful large family child care and preschool facility in Suisun City.
My child care business was established in March 2001. In September of 2003, I received my first Certificate of Accreditation from the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), which certifies that my program has the highest standards of quality child care. I am also trained as a NAFCC Observer to assess other providers going through the Accreditation program.
I serve as President of the Solano County Licensed Family Child Care Association and 1st Vice President for the California Association for Family Child Care. As an advocate for children, I actively network with family child care providers and educators to exchange ideas, techniques and share concerns to improve the quality of early care for all children in our community.
I hold a Child Development Assistant Permit Teaching Credential from the State of California and I am currently nrolled at Pacific Union College pursuing a BA degree in Early Childhood Education.
I work as a mentor to other family child care providers and assist them in starting and managing their child care businesses.
I am an active member of the following organizations:
- California Association for the Education of Young Children (CAEYC)
- California Association for Family Child Care (CAFCC)
